Latest news on Beth's release schedule and tours etc.

New UK Tour, October 1999 and New Single: Central Reservation.

The New Single Out on Monday 13th September 1999.

Having released her second album CENTRAL RESERVATION to universal critical acclaim in March this year, Beth Orton has spent the past few months making waves across America. Apart from a startlingly joyful main stage appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival, Beth has been out of the country with her band, clocking up enormous sales across the pond and touring on the famous Lilith Fair. Her own headline tour saw Beck turn up as surprise guest support in LA (a track they've recorded together is all set to appear on Beck's new album next year).

Despite her absence from these shores she's still managed to score a coveted Mercury Music Price nomination (her second in as many albums).

Her new single - also titled CENTRAL RESERVATION - is due for release on Monday 13th September. It features the album version of the track, originally produced by Ben Watt of Everything But the Girl, and comes with mixes from Joe Claussell (the heavily club-charted Spiritual Life Remix) as well as William Orbit and Deep Dish.

Beth returns to her homeland this Autumn for her first UK tour in almost two years.

Catch her in October while you can.

BETH ORTON

"STOLEN CAR" - The new single.
Out on Monday 1st March

Following two years of globe-conquering touring, Beth Orton makes an eagerly awaited return with the first fruits of her brand new album, making a great progression both vocally and musically. After the storming success of her "Trailer Park" debut, "the queen of the heartbreak vocal" returns to the fray with an awesome new single. "STOLEN CAR" is a beautiful song brimming with all the characteristics which make Beth Orton's music wholly unique and beloved. Guest guitar comes from Ben Harper and the video for the song has been directed by acclaimed American film maker Hal Hartley, the man responsible for cult classics Trust, The Unbelievable Truth and Amateur.

"STOLEN CAR" is released on Monday 1st March - available on 2 CD's and cassette, all formats include tracks not available on the album.

"CENTRAL RESERVATION"  - The new album.
Out on Monday 15th March

"STOLEN CAR" is also the opening track for the new album "CENTRAL RESERVATION". Following on from Beth's critically acclaimed debut album "Trailer Park", "CENTRAL RESERVATION" is also destined for dizzy heights. In true style the album is packed with haunting melodies and guitar based poetry, beautifully executed by Beth's distinctive voice...
